Western Regional Sales Representative

Status:  Full Time Position

POSITION SUMMARY

The Western Regional Sales Representative is a full time position located at Sunshine Makers Headquarters in Huntington Beach, California and will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Sales, Operations and Business Development. The territory will include multiple trade classes across the Western Territory.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Manage collaborative cross-functional relationships between Sales and Corporate Headquarters.
  • Accurately forecast customer sales goals and strategies to achieve desired results.
  • Develop and implement the appropriate basic and promotional customer strategies to deliver sales plan.
  • Support field sales in the development of strategies and solutions to address business opportunities and challenges at customers.
  • Manage, motivate and train Manufacturer’s representatives.
  • Serve as the “voice of customer” (at HQ) and provide strategic intelligence on important trade/channel developments, trends and requirements. This intelligence is meant to guide future business planning and product launches.
  • Play a role with Sales and New Product Development Teams to create national and account-specific promotional packs, product launches as well as co-marketing opportunities.
  • Analyze syndicated and account specific POS data to determine key business trends. Make actionable recommendations for business improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 10 years of business experience (including previous grocery and mass merchant experience).
  • In-depth knowledge of various national classes of trade (DIY Big Box, Hardware Co-Ops, Club, Automotive Retailer/Wholesalers, Mass, Food, Drug and Specialty).
  • 4-year degree or better in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • Ability to accommodate travel schedule of 50%
  • Outstanding technical skills: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Web and other required computer applications.
  • Outstanding analytical skills. Solid experience in mining and organizing syndicated reports.
  • Excellent communication/collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to negotiate for positive outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently to identify business needs and opportunities to impact sales growth.
  • Stamina, character, sense of humor, proactive approach and work ethic appropriate for a fast-paced, team-oriented, growth company.
